What’s New in Oracle Primavera P6 Professional 25.12?

Oracle released P6 25.12 in December 2025. Here’s a look at what’s changed in the newest release of P6 Professional.

Warn About Out of Sequence Activities

I’m too excited to save my favorite improvement for the last spot on this list, so I’m putting it at number one where it belongs – Warn about out of sequence activities. This new setting is found in the Assistance tab of your User Preferences. It doesn’t appear to be a default selection, so make sure you go look for it and enable it!

This feature produces a warning when you elect to record progress for an activity outside of the current network logic. The warning allows you to view the unsatisfied predecessor and decide if you wish to continue with the out of sequence logic or not.

Improvements to Global Change Execution

Are you intimidated by performing a Global Change on your project? Honestly, me too. I double and triple check before clicking the Apply Change button. The newest release of P6 now allows us to selectively apply global change results after clicking “Apply Change.” The log now has a checkbox that lets you choose which results to accept.

Improvements to Baselines

  • You can now view the ID for a baseline in the Maintain Baselines dialog window, improving clarity when tracking multiple baselines.

  • When importing P6 XML files, choose baseline assignments (primary, secondary, tertiary) when Updating an Existing Project.
  • Enhanced filtering for updating the baseline.
  • Additional labels for headers and footers within page setup include primary, secondary, and tertiary baseline variables.
Check out the project baseline when checking out the project.

New Fields

Estimated Time To Complete and Estimated Time to Complete – Labor Units are new fields to the Activities window and Resource Assignment tab that project the amount of time or labor units required to complete remaining work from the current point in the project. These are calculated fields considering past performance.

Estimated Time To Complete = Original Duration/SPI (Schedule Performance Index)

Estimated Time To Complete – Labor Units = Original Labor Units / SPI – Labor Units (Schedule Performance Index – Labor Units).

Options for Loading Large Data (Large Text Data Fields)

If you work with large projects and find opening them takes longer than you’d like, P6 25.12 might have exciting user preferences for loading such large data when opening the project. The Assistance tab lets you specify how projects with large amounts of data are accessed in an effort to improve the speed and performance of P6 Professional.

Select Multiple Projects to Convert to a Baseline At Once

You no longer have to choose projects one at a time when converting them to baselines, select multiple when converting projects to baselines.

Other improvements include:

  • Changes to items reported in the schedule log.
  • Clarification to global user security privileges regarding import and export templates.
  • New SQL logging tool.
  • Configure read timeout value for any database connection.

In addition to Oracle updating P6 to 25.12, we’ve also updated our training manual to reflect the most up-to-date version of P6! Check out our upcoming training courses to learn more about P6 25.12!
